Weaving with fishing net

You may remember in 2021 for the Tide Mills Project, schools and members of the community were asked to weave a circle with fishing net and rafia which were turned into this fantastic art installation by Kittie Kipper.

Find out more about Kittie Kipper’s project for the Tide Mills Project.

Kittie Kipper kindly donated the leftover kits to the community. Come along and weave a circle to add to our mosaic or for you to take home.

Did you know…

A survey found that 1.4 million school uniform items are thrown away each year.

Many of these items, such as shirts, dresses and trousers, are made from a mixture of materials including polyester or acrylic – which are 100% plastic.

The survey found that just over 350 tonnes of plastic were ending up in a landfill each year, from uniform alone, which can take many decades to break down.

Help us to keep school uniform in use for longer –
save pollution save plastic, save waste!

Supporting a UNA Climate & Oceans Youth Cabinet project in Tanzania

The UNA Climate & Oceans Youth Cabinet supports a youth led environmental group in Tanzania who do beach cleans, plant trees and play sport together.

The founder of the group – Benson, is a member of the youth cabinet. Visit their Instagram page to find out more about their activities.

Sharing Skills is taking part along with our friends – the Community Supporters in Bexhill and the UNA Climate & Oceans to hold activities and a webinar to support the groups work.

All the money raised from the food and school uniform sales at this event will be donated to the fund.
