Alongside the Preloved school uniform exchange.

Swap your old toys and stocking fillers for new-to-you toys, in time for Christmas.

If you can, please drop toys off before the event.
For each item you bring, you will be given a ticket to exchange for another toy or stocking filler at the event.

See below for drop off points.

On the day

We’re helping to raise money to renovate the Mercread kitchen to make it usable for cookery workshops. We’re asking for an optional donation of £3 to join the toy swap to help towards this.

This is running alongside our usual Preloved school uniform exchange where you can donate or sell your old uniform and collect your orders. We also have a selection of free coats and shoes.

The door to the Toy Swap will open at 10am.
Be sure to arrive on time to grab yourself a great find!

Help save toys going to landfill and save money for Christmas.

How it works

Swap your unwanted, used toys, books and DVDs in good condition.
In addition, please bring along your unwanted stocking fillers. Save landfill and pass on the joy of those small bits of plastic!
You will be given a ticket to exchange for the same amount of toys or stocking fillers.

To avoid disappointment, please do not bring along expensive toys expecting to exchange for something similar – why not sell on the selling page or Ebay.

If the toy you have donated does not get claimed, you are welcome to take it back before they are offered up to attendees / donated.

Any extra toys not reclaimed by their original owner will either be offered to attendees or passed on through local charities.

Why not leave the children at home for a great opportunity for free Christmas shopping!

The Mercread Community Kitchen

The Mercread youth centre is fundraising to renovate the kitchen to make it a more usable space for cooking with the young people attending youth activities, cookery workshops and community cooking.

They would like to run extra cookery workshops for young people in school holidays and weekends as well as in youth sessions during the week. Once completed, the kitchen will provide a much needed space in the town for providing community meals and as a space for HAF projects and other community groups to use for their activities. They would also like the kitchen to be used during the week day to bring groups together to learn more cookery skills.

Please drop toys off before the event if you can. For each item you bring, you will be given a ticket to exchange for another toy or stocking filler.
